Health Bank One App Redesign

Danielle Khaitas, Sara Rodriguez, Andy Phan, Daniel Beck, Xinru Li

Project Overview

Health Bank One is a medical document app that empowers users to securely access their health records from thousands of providers—all on their terms. They challenged our class to reimagine the app into a tool people would actively want to engage with every day, not just when needed.

User Interviews

Every member of my group conducted one user interview each- bringing our total to five interviews.

Key Findings

Research notifications and references could support users who want to stay informed and involved.

Cross-provider integration is a pain point—especially when records aren’t centralized.

Appointment reminders are a must-have for forgetful users or those juggling care for others.

Consider optional features for alternative treatments, but back them up with citations.

DEFINING THE PROBLEM

Key Persona

Occupation

Flight Attendant, Mother

Bio

Charlotte is a 58-year-old flight attendant and single mom from Dallas living with Type 1 Diabetes. She’s energetic, tech-comfortable, and committed to staying healthy while balancing travel and family life.

Goals

She wants an easy way to manage her and her children’s health—tracking records, appointments, and medications—especially while traveling.

Pain Points

Charlotte struggles with accessing healthcare info on the go, poor provider communication due to time zones, and confusing medical portals that add stress to her condition.

They need a simplified, centralized system to easily access, track, and manage their health information to stay organized, informed, and in control of their care.

Stand Out

Unique Features

Ability to toggle languages for wider accessibility.

Ability to manage upcoming appointments and medications on one screen.

Integration with wearable technology to track your health status.

Ability to message your providers and an AI chat bot about your results at the tap of a button.
